    “We used the FE-Depositor on a huge order of 60,000 bonbons, it helps to spread the chocolate out more evenly. With very fluid chocolate the outside bars were within .2 gms and the inside bar was 1.2 gms heavier. With our normal bar chocolate the weight was in the 1-3 gram range. We are happy with the beta unit and think that it is very useful, after the beta testing we decide to purchase the unit.”

    “We were having issues with consistent bar weight on our 3-bar depositor that dosed for our automated bar line. We used the standard FE-Depositor Beta 2.0 on our FBM Jumbo depositing line and it showed promising weight results when run on the automated line. However, due to our mold geometry a custom nozzle plate was needed to deposit uniformly in the mold. Fairbank Engineering designed and manufactured a custom nozzle that allowed us to produce bars all within 2-3 grams. In one case we processed 400 lbs of chocolate in one shift on our automated line, all bars were within acceptable weights. Fairbank Engineering also made an adaptor for the FE-depositor that allowed us to use it on our Savage Brothers tempering machine. We purchased the Beta unit, custom nozzle plate and heating unit.”

    “BOHO Chocolate was part of the FE-Depositor Beta 1.0 testing. There were a number of adjustments needed with the early prototype but Fairbank Engineering did a great job listening to feedback by us and other chocolate makers taking part in the initial testing. The final result is a professional depositor that adds value to our production line and exceeds all expectations! The bar weight and uniformity is excellent and the bars are consistently produced without the need to rework chocolate. At one point we wanted to see how many bars we could make using the unit, working as fast as possible, we were able to fill 120 molds (360 bars) in 17 minutes. Suffice to say our bar smith who makes most of the bars really likes using the unit. We purchased the “final “version of the FE-Depositor along with a heating unit and couldn’t be happier - highly recommend!”

We use a Selmi Plus EX and the dosing with the FE-depositor is quite precise, we found that the middle bar in the mould is always 1-1.5 gms heavier than the side bars in the mould. After the beta testing worked so well we decide to purchase the beta unit.

    The FE-Depositor works beautifully with just about any viscosity of chocolate from super fluid 100% to very viscous 2-ingredient dark chocolates. At one point we pushed roughly 7,000 bars through it using the Selmi One in a week. Our first experience with the unit we ran about 1000 bars, they were all within 3g max of each other. Generally the middle would be a bit heavier I.E 61g-63g-61g. The weights stayed very consistent even after running chocolate through it for several hours. On top of functioning beautifully the FE-Depositor is aesthetically pleasing, easy to set up, and clean. Any chocolate maker upgrading to a continuous tempering machine should be investing in this depositor at the same time. After the success we had with the beta testing we purchased the released version of the FE-Depositor.

Throughout the development phase Fairbank Engineering was incredibly receptive to our suggestions when discussing improvements that would better support chocolate makers. The FE-Depositor and FE-Stand Alone Heating Unit have revolutionized the way our business makes our bean-to-bar chocolate bars.

    We use FE-Depositors on our four tempering machines and use them for all our bar production. This change has increased our productivity, significantly improved the appearance of our bars, and we have consistently seen bar weight uniformity of +/- 1 gram across all our various flavors, which is a huge improvement over hand dosing with a foot pedal. This consistency has saved us a ton of money. Not only does the unit work better than advertised but it is ergonomic and easy to use. Due to the user friendliness of the FE-Depositor, we have changed our training protocols. Now, new employees can be pouring perfect chocolate bars on their first day!

    We decided to use Fairbank Engineering's FE depositor trial to alleviate issues we found with our original pouring head. We were able to try out the standard model from Fairbank Engineering where we quickly saw so many positive improvements from our older unit. Our chocolate molds are unique in their size and shape, and Fairbank Engineering was able to work with us to design a custom channel plate for our company while we were able to use the standard model in production. We have been able to pour faster and more efficiently with the Fairbank Engineering unit filling in the gaps our previous unit left behind, including a better spread of chocolate to fill all the corners and cavities evenly. The unit pours quickly and accurately, with the weights on our bars consistent every time

Our molds are a bit unique and we produce a high volume of bars so it was important for us to have a channel plate that filled the molds fully to reduce vibrating time. After experiencing how well all the other features worked, we decide to move forward with a custom channel plate. The custom channel plate does a great job of filling the mold cavity and does not add any additional vibrating time. There were some challenges with the custom channel plate but Fairbank Engineering was responsive and resolved the issue in a timely fashion. We would recommend the FE-Depositor to anyone in the bean to bar industry. “
